The Department of Education just released the rest of in their English Learner Toolkit – 10 chapters total. There is lot of good stuff that you need to know. This is federal guidance – as good as it gets.
Mid-TESOL conference will be held October 23-24 in Iowa City. More information can be found here.

Oxford Picture Dictionary has an app. The first unit of study is free and would be very helpful to your older newcomers, especially those who are Spanish speaking.
Diane Mora, one of the MELL Specialists in KC showed the ELA regroup at DESE how to use Dictogloss. This is an excellent way to teach listening skills in addition to writing. Here are Larry Ferlazzo’s best resources for using dictogloss with your students.
WIDA has released some on-line sample items for the public. Go to the bottom of this page. You must be using Chrome as your browser to look at them.
I’ve been getting a lot of questions about how to get ESOL certified. Mizzou has a program that is 100% on-line.
