For all of you receiving title III funding, AMAOs are out. Once again, the only district to make AMAO3 was Clayton. All districts met AMAO1. All districts met AMAO2 in cohort 2 – so we have improved the long-term EL issue here in MO. GOOD JOB!!!!!! If you are looking for an example of a good AMAO plan, look in my google drive: DESE materials: excellent AMAO plan 14-15. Yours does not need to look like this – this is just one I thought was very thorough.
Winter ESL Institute will feature Cammy Goucher talking about how to incorporate Karen Nemeth’s strategies in the classroom, Diane Mora showing strategies to develop writing skills and several other special guests. We will be briefly discussing ACCESS, SLOs and what’s new in ESL. Lunch and door prizes will be provided.
If you would like to come to update your Lau plan, Monday December 14th is set aside especially for you. Stay tuned for Newcomers in your schools January 15, which should be on my learning plan soon.
The MELL Conference has been replaced by a new federal programs conference. I have attached a call for proposals. It will be held September 25-27 at Tan Tar A. Proposals are due March 15th. SWMO always wins for the most presenters. DO NOT LET ME DOWN!
